The European Union Reference Laboratory (EURL) for Fish and Crustacean Diseases is designated and funded by the European Commission to ensure the quality of diagnostics of notifiable fish and crustacean diseases in Member States and to harmonize the procedures and methodologies applied. The EURL is situated at National Institute of Aquatic Resources (DTU Aqua) at Technical University of Denmark.
National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) for Fish and Crustacean Diseases are designated in each EU Member State and in most neighbouring countries. The NRLs coordinate national surveillance for notifiable fish and crustecean diseases.
