Webinar series: Epidemiology in Aquatic Animal Health. Registriation deadline September 15, 2025

The EU Reference laboratory for Fish and Crustacean Diseases is glad to announce a webinar series on Epidemiology in Aquatic Animal Health for autumn 2025. The series will have a weekly occurrence starting from October 22nd, 2025. In total, there will be six webinars and one follow up.

The webinar series provides an introduction into basic concepts of aquatic animal health epidemiology and into risk factor analysis for understanding and mitigation of disease. Examples will be provided primarily from finfish aquaculture. Lectures will be provided by epidemiologists and fish health experts.The examination is an online test and a small assignment.

The webinars are aimed at professionals working with fish health, and with an interest in disease surveillance and testing.  

Registration

Registration will be open until September 15th, 2025. The number of participants is preliminary limited to 15 persons.

In order to finalize the registration you should fill out the registration form. The registration form has to be followed by a letter of motivation, where your background and working experience are described. The form and the motivational letter have to be sent by email to Thomas Weise, thomwei@aqua.dtu.dk. The information obtained will solely be used to evaluate participants according to the foreseen activities.

In September, a letter to all applicants will be submitted indicating if they are accepted for participation. The EURL will prioritize applications from NRL´s in the EU Member States. Afterwards places will be allocated on a “first come first served” basis.
