It is time for the EURL for Fish and Crustacean Diseases to collect data for Survey and Diagnosis to get an overview of the status of diseases listed, according to Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/216, in Europe.
Every year the EURL collates data provided from the National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) compiling aquaculture production, number of outbreaks of listed fish diseases, health category status of fish farms, fish health challenges occurring in the different countries and number of tests conducted by the NRLs.
Deadline
The NRLs should return the completed questionnaire to the EURL no later than 18th April 2025.
Template for data collection
Download Excel template for survey and diagnosis data
How to fill in the template
The template for collecting data in 2024 is aligned with the Animal Health Law:
- The EURL team will retrieve all general production data in Europe from the annual report provided by Federation of Aquaculture Producers (FEAP).
- The general production data do not cover the number of farms with susceptible species nor their health status. This information is important for epidemiological analysis. Therefore, each Member State is asked to provide these data. It is the responsibility of the NRLs to collect these data from the respective authority in their country.
- The EURL would like to collect information on the geographical localization of zones and compartments within the different health categories in the Member States. Therefore, the NRLs are encouraged to submit a map with this information. Maps can be retrieved from nationsonline.org. Other maps may also be used.
- All Member States are asked to use this excel template. The completed file should be save with the name of the country and submitted to Thomas Weise (thomwei@aqua.dtu.dk) and Niccolò Vendramin (niven@aqua.dtu.dk) latest 18th of April 2025.
Presentation of data
An overview of the data collected from this year’s "Survey and Diagnosis" will be presented at the 29th Annual Workshop of the National Reference Laboratories for Fish Diseases, Copenhagen, Denmark 2025.
