Now the time has arrived for collecting data on Survey and Diagnosis of the listed fish diseases in Europe for 2013 according to Council Directive 2006/88/EC.
The form is very similar to the form submitted last year for compiling the 2012 data. This year, however, we tried to simplify the questions on health categorization and to clarify some points of uncertainty. The general production data in Europe will be obtained from FAO Fisheries Global Information System (FIGIS) Aquaculture Production, and questions on these aspects are not included in this survey. The general production data do not cover the number of farms, their size, or their health status information that are important for epidemiological analysis. We therefore ask you to provide these data to us again this year. The questionnaire also covers other survey and control programmes in your country and details on the epizootic situation. Furthermore, we would like to collect information on the geographical localization of zones and compartments with different health categories in your country.
Therefore we would encourage you to submit a map with this information. These maps could be retrieved from Maps of Europe, but feel free to use the map that best fit your needs.
Please save and name the attached S&D template 2013 with the name of your country and submit the completed form to Anemone Ojala (aoja@vet.dtu.dk) by 22nd of April 2014. The template can also be downloaded from our webpage www.eurl-fish.eu .
An overview of the data collected from this survey will be presented at the 18th Annual Meeting for National Reference Laboratories for Fish Diseases, Copenhagen, Denmark 3rd and 4th of June 2014.
